Aid recipient
The Rudnev Center for Mother and Child in Dnipro, Ukraine

In conjunction with our partners at the Kyiv School of Economics, we’ve made good on another vital delivery—this time, a shipment of desperately need suture material (polydioxonone, polyglycolide) to the Rudnev Clinical Hospital for Mother and Child in the city of Dnipro.

The surgeons at the Rudnev Clinical Hospital conduct more than 11,000 operations per year, on patients of all ages, including newborns.

The hospital is multidisciplinary and its surgeons perform a wide range of procedures, including emergency surgery, orthopedic traumatology, and reconstructive plastic surgery.

For all of these procedures, the surgeons need surgical suture material. On average, they say they use about five sutures for each operation.

URGENT have delivered enough suture material to cover the Hospital’s needs for the next 3 months, at a total cost of £4,300.
