Turning an Old Basement into an Air-raid Shelter for Pre-schoolers in Western Ukraine
Aid recipient
Kindergarten №6 "Bilochka" (Squirrel), Shepetivka, Khmelnytskyi Region, Ukraine
Once upon a time, there was an old, damp basement in western Ukraine, full of grimy mould and mildew...
...Now it's a cheerful, colourful, and fully equipped shelter for pre-schoolers. (As a matter of fact, It looks so welcoming now, you really can’t call it a "bomb shelter.") It’s a place where it's no longer scary... to hide from the scary.
Together with our partners KSE Foundation, we did our best to make this safe space all about imagination and life—not fear.
